Terms of Service
By creating an account on Zovu, you agree to these terms. Please read them — they are written to be clear, not to trap you in small print.
1. Who can use Zovu
You must be at least 18 years old to use Zovu. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older. If we discover that a user is under 18, we will immediately terminate their account and delete their data.
You must be a human. Automated accounts, bots, and scripts are not permitted.
2. Your account
You are responsible for everything that happens through your account. Keep your login credentials secure and do not share your account with anyone else.
The information you provide — name, age, gender, photos — must be accurate and represent you, not someone else. Creating a fake or misleading profile is a violation of these terms.
3. How Zovu works
Zovu is a platform for meeting people at universities, local events, and festivals.
At events and festivals: When you sign up, you connect your profile to an upcoming event. During the event window (typically two weeks before through the final day of the event), you can swipe and match with other verified attendees. Swiping closes when the event ends. You remain matched with your existing matches after the event ends.
At universities: Students can connect their profile to their university and match with other students at the same institution.
Nearby: You can also discover and connect with other Zovu users in your area in real time.
4. Content you post
You own the content you upload — your photos, bio, and messages. By uploading content to Zovu, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and display it within the app for the purpose of operating the service.
You must not upload content that:
- Is sexually explicit or graphic
- Depicts or glorifies violence or self-harm
- Belongs to someone else without their permission
- Is misleading, fraudulent, or impersonates another person
- Violates any applicable law
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these rules without notice.
5. How you must behave
Zovu is built around connection and respect. The following are strictly prohibited:
- Harassment, threats, or abusive messages toward other users
- Soliciting money, gifts, or personal information from other users
- Sending unsolicited commercial messages or spam
- Attempting to bypass or hack any part of the platform
- Using Zovu for any illegal purpose
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent a ban
Violations may result in immediate account termination.
6. Payments and subscriptions
Event mode: Zovu is free to download and use with a limited number of likes per day. For unlimited likes during an event, you can make a one-time purchase that applies to that specific event only. Access is valid from two weeks before the event starts until the event ends. This is not a subscription — you are charged once per event and there are no automatic renewals. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment details. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@getzovu.net if you have a billing issue.
University mode: University mode is completely free for all students. There are no paid subscriptions or upgrade options available for this mode. Students receive a limited number of likes per day at no cost.
7. Event partnerships
Some events on Zovu are run in partnership with event organisers. These organisers may know that Zovu is active at their event, but they do not have access to your personal data or your conversations.
8. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, photos, matches, and messages.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, without prior notice. In serious cases (e.g. illegal content, harassment), we may report the matter to relevant authorities.
9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Zovu is provided "as is." We make no guarantees that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will result in any particular outcome (including meeting someone).
We are not responsible for the behaviour of other users. Meeting someone in person carries inherent risks — please take reasonable precautions when meeting a match offline for the first time.
To the maximum extent permitted by Swedish law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of Zovu is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Zovu grows. We will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Zovu after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by Swedish law. Any disputes will be resolved in Swedish courts.
